Aschari
Cinematic alternative pop shaped by performance and emotional truth
Aschari is the music project of Nadia Affolter, a singer-songwriter and actress with roots between Europe and the United States. Drawing from a background in performance and storytelling, her music blends emotionally rich alternative pop with indie rock and folk textures — intimate, cinematic, and quietly confrontational. She is currently releasing her debut EP, A Familiar Hell, a body of work that explores contradiction, catharsis, and the complexity of self-reckoning, led by singles including “Pyre,” “The Way Things Are,” “Blue,” “Uncanny Truth,” and “Stay.”
With formal training and professional experience as an actress, Nadia approaches songwriting as a form of character study. Her songs don’t simply describe emotions — they inhabit them. Rather than linear narratives, Aschari’s music unfolds in moments, tensions, and aftermaths, allowing listeners to sit inside unresolved feelings. This performance-led approach gives her work a distinctive emotional clarity, where vulnerability feels intentional rather than exposed.
Raised between cultures and fluent across languages and artistic disciplines, Aschari’s sound reflects a sense of in-between-ness — soft yet defiant, restrained yet explosive. Her writing moves fluidly between genres, echoing influences from modern alternative pop to indie folk and rock, while remaining anchored by a consistent emotional voice. This range has become her signature: music that resists easy categorization but rewards close listening.
Aschari is currently rolling out A Familiar Hell with new releases, visuals, and live performances to follow. For press, bookings, or collaborations, visit the contact page — and sign up to the mailing list to stay connected with upcoming music and shows.
